Nestling in its own tidal bay with only wildlife as neighbours, Shore Cottage is a true gem. A cosy living-room with log-stove, dining table overlooking Loch Fyne, two charming bedrooms and coastal and woodland walks from the door, it’s a place to relax and unwind.
Such is the peace and tranquillity, it’s hard to believe that the bustling village of Tarbert is just 10 minutes drive with its picturesque harbour, shops, and restaurants.

Shore Cottage is an old quarrymen’s home that has been sensitively refurbished for contemporary living while retaining a strong sense of its 200 year old origins. Heather has been holidaying here since the 1960s and, with Nick, opened it for holiday lets in 2009. The cottage and its setting are unique and much-loved, with guests returning year after year.
The cottage is furnished for year-round comfort with all rooms at ground level and underfloor heating throughout.
The cosy living room has comfortable leather sofas and a dining area tucked into the bay window with unbeatable views of the loch and distant coastlines. A glass door opens out onto the terrace patio and the beach beyond.
The quaint pine kitchen has plentiful supply of items for cooking, eating and drinking and the kitchen door leads to the garden and a sunny bench-seat – perfect for that first cup of coffee while watching the yachts and fishing boats slip past the bay.
Two double bedrooms are bright and spacious with fitted wardrobes, comfortable beds and crisp cotton bed-linen and quality towels. The master bedroom has ensuite shower, wc and wash-hand basin. A separate shower-room facing the second double has walk-in shower, wc and basin. Both ensuite and shower-room have heated towel rails.
The garden is large with 3 seating areas and a charming mix of cultivated and wilder areas. It is surrounded by a fence – but determined dogs will find gaps so take appropriate precautions. A stile leads from the garden straight onto the shore.
Shore Cottage is situated on the edge of Stonefield Castle Hotel’s magnificent woodland gardens and just 10 minutes’ drive from the historic fishing village of Tarbert, there’s no shortage of places to eat, shop and chill.
